Excited for Eastvale’s 6th Annual Fun Run!

Time has been hard pressed split between work and travel ball schedule, so registration for this fun event almost slipped right past me.  This year, I am hoping that my son will run it with me and enjoy it as much as I do.  Now in middle school, they do have timed running and I proposed the 5k challenge to him.  He would have to squeeze it in before baseball practice so it may take some convincing. Either way, I look forward to crossing the finish line!  If you are interested in signing up click on the photo below to be directed to registration and see you there!!!

Eastvale Nationals Car Wash March 8th

car washThis weekend, the Eastvale Nationals are hosting a car wash fundraiser.   This is a fundraiser with purpose beyond baseball.  The boys will be working hard to a support the Klemntich Family. As you may know, the family suffered a great loss so a portion of the proceeds from the car wash will go to an eternal memorial brick to be laid at Angels stadium for the Klemntich Family.  This will be a memorial to show our support for the family and the love of baseball that the family holds.  In addition, the club will also purchase a custom baseball theme flower arrangement for the memorial services.  So please help the boys to honor the Klemntich Family.  If you don’t have a car to be clean and would still like to donate, stop by on Saturday at 7-Eleven located at Archibald and Schleisman between 7am-2pm and speak with one of our Coaches.  One of my favorite things about living in Eastvale is that “home” is more than 4 walls and a door, it is found in our friends and neighbors that make such a great community.  See you BRIGHT & EARLY on Saturday!

Grand Opening for Estancia in Eastvale, CA

WOW!  Did you go to the grand opening this weekend?

Techonlogy based and energy efficient homes offered in new Eastvale Community Estancia by Lennar

Technology based and energy-efficient homes offered in new Eastvale Community Estancia by Lennar

My husband and I did and were we ever surprised.  The homes were impressive and ranged from a little over 2700 square feet up to 4644 square feet.  I fell in love with the feature in Estancia East which consists of a bi-folding patio door that opens up the home to a cozy courtyard with fireplace and seating.   I was also impressed with the attention to detail in technology and energy efficiency.  One highlight they provided was a combo plug and USB charger in the kitchen and master bedrooms.  It is something small, however, I am constantly looking for my charger, so this is valuable to me for sure.

The homes were milling with the masses and in each home they had the fire-place going, the design features clearly marked as to what is included, a little snack/beverage area, and it was all rather inviting.  These homes were so inviting that phase 1 for Estancia West had almost sold out by Noon when we left on Saturday.  Which was even more of a surprise as the price tag was between $562,600 at the low end to $605,000 on the high end.  Estancia East is a little more with price ranging from $613,000 to $674,890 for one of the 17 homes designated as part of the Desi Collection.

Eastvale Homes for sale in EstanciaMy favorite model was Residence 3 in Estancia East.  It is a 3615 sqft. 5 bedroom home that had an open floor plan and felt like home.  It is funny to write that because my home now is about the same size, it just doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that these Lennar Homes have.  Walking around it felt like I was in an episode of HGTV and had plenty of inspiration for upgrades to my home.  For now, my family is going to stay put however if you are interested in knowing if your Eastvale home value would support a move to Estancia, call today me today 951-703-3899 or fill out the form below to get an update on market activity in your neighborhood.

Community Makes a Difference

After hearing enough stories of “grow houses” in Eastvale, it became my mission to look for people within our community that have a positive impact. It is important that my kids see an example of how one person or one kind deed can make a difference in the lives of many.  As one day, they may have the opportunity to do the same.
Last month, I found an opportunity to jump in and help right here in Eastvale. One of our Eastvale residents started a Mommy Outreach Movement that organizes events monthly. In January, M.O.M organized a toy drive to benefit a group at Inland Hills Church and also CrossPoint preschool. In addition to collecting toys for those groups, stuffed animals were also collected to be donated to the LAPD for abused and injured children.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I offered my home to be the drop off, however it was amazing to see how much that was collected in one  weekend.  People donated enough toys to fill up my living room.   As good as it felt to be able to help, the impact that it had on my kids was far more than I could have expected.
Once we finally convinced my 4-year-old daughter that it wasn’t Christmas again, her eyes lit up at the idea that other kids were going to get presents. She was sad to see the toys gone the following day and for a week or so after, she asked everyday about the toys and if the kids were happy. Sometimes when we go shopping, she asks to get toys “for other kids that would love it.” As for my son, he is 11 and he was a bit more reserved with his surprise.   A simple “that was cool mom, what are we going to do next,” had to hold me over until the next event was posted.
Well, it was a short time we had to wait before February’s  event was posted on the M.O.M. Facebook page. The call was to have 155 handmade Valentine’s Day cards made for the Vista Cove nursing home in Corona. They were delivered on the 13th along with sweet treats and a lot of love.  I certainly hope they enjoyed them as much as we enjoyed making them. My daughter sang the whole time and was so lively talking about love and hearts.  This time my son looked up from cutting out a shape and said, “So you are doing this just because you want to do this? No one is making you and it’s not for work?” I could see a light go on and while he softly said, “cool” I thought to myself, his world is expanding from “have to” to “want to”
I am excited what the slight change in perspective will do for him. If you are looking to help in our Eastvale Community or would like to see the upcoming events like the M.O.M page and lend a hand where you can.

Eastvale 5k/10k

Resultss for Jessica Aguilar, a local Eastvale Realtor after running in Eastvale’s annual 5k/10k.

On October 19th, I ran in the 5th annual 5k/10k here in Eastvale.  For the past couple of years, I have seen the signs and always took a mental note that I should sign up for it.  Well, finally this was the year I did and I can’t wait to do it again!

Back in March, I started walking 2 miles a day.  That was the deal I made with myself after reading Gary Keller’s, The One Thing.  In his book, he discusses how it takes 66 days to create a habit.  At this pace, I was able to determine 5 habits that I wanted to change and health was at the top of the list.  Not being able to run even if someone was chasing me, I told myself that for 66 days I was going to put in 2 miles everyday.  It didn’t matter if I walked, ran, or had to crawl, I was getting those 2 miles in.

Over the course of time, those two miles evolved into a life change.  I would get up early to start my day and not only did the pace increase, so did the mileage.  Over the course of  the past 7 months, I have earned my way to alternate between 3 and 5 miles daily.   It is an amazing feeling to wake up raring to go…to start the day with a healthy choice.  Well, 3 days before the 5k/10k, I saw the banner one last time as I ran past Roosevelt High School and thought why wait…just sign up and see what you can do.

The sign up process was very easy and even allowed me to donate to one of our local schools.  I chose Eastvale Elementary since that is where my son attends.  It was a $30 entry fee and it was a good feeling to support my community while I pushed myself out of the comfort zone.  My son had a baseball game early that morning, so I apologized and let him know that I would be late, however I would be there the second I finished the 10K.  It was encouraging to hear him tell me he was proud of me and he understood that I had a goal and had to see it through.  Elena, my daughter  was just excited and in her 4-year-old enthusiasm said, “Are you going to race for ME?  Are you going to win and get a ribbon?”  I could only do my best and yes, I was going to win for ME!

Morning of the event, I jumped out of bed grabbed my lucky hat, laced up my shoes, and headed out to Roosevelt High School.  I was a bit nervous as one generally is when they are doing something out of the ordinary.  The line to get my bib was quick and then it was off to the track to warm up.  A few stretches later and the participants were instructed to line up for the 5k.  It was a mere 10 minutes later that the 90 of us running the 10k were given the green light to start.  My goal was to pace myself and cross the finish line in 60 minutes or less.  I was not used to running in a group, nor certain how fast I could go, so this seemed doable.  The course was marked well and the first couple of miles went fast.   Well, when push came to shove, I focused and  ran my little heart out to the finish line in 1 hour 2 minutes and 54 seconds.  I missed my goal by just minutes and now have a plan of attack to finish stronger in Eastvale’s next 10K.

"I was really nervous that I wouldn't know where to go. Everything was clearly mapped out and loved when they cheered you on to the finish line. It made a difference for me"
